Making the change from the crib to a toddler bed for your child can often be tough to determine as far as timing goes. Sure, when you speak in general terms you know that anywhere from 2-3 years of age is the right period, but what about the timing? There are a few things to consider in this area that will make the entire process so much easier on the whole family.
The biggest thing to look for in the matter of timing is not to make this transition when something else is going on. What I mean by that is that if your child is right in the middle of breaking free of the binky, if they have one, it’s not a good time to throw another huge change into their life.
The same would go for potty training. If you have them started with potty training and then toss in this major change with their sleeping, it can present problems as well. It’s often tough as parents to always put ourselves in the minds of our toddlers and realize what such big changes mean. Hopefully these tips have helped.
